Quando penso na foto, não consigo separar o mundo do corpo.
A câmera captura o visível, mas também me permite traduzir o campo dos sentidos. Essa conexão nasce da minha maior referência de casa: o mar. Nascida e criada nas águas da Ribeira, aprendi cedo a usar o marulho para me entender — brincando com o tempo, com os detalhes e com a sutileza das mudanças.
Para mim, a imagem é uma tradução e, necessariamente, uma relação. O olhar funciona como uma janela que conecta luz e sombra, dentro e fora, numa missão profunda e corriqueira. Enquanto travesti e baiana, sei que tudo é muito mais, ao mesmo tempo que simplesmente é. Estar viva é uma felicidade urgente. Por isso jogo meu corpo no mundo, ciente de que gente é feita para brilhar e que aqui e agora é o melhor lugar.
When I think about photography, I cannot separate the world from the body. The camera captures the visible, but it also allows me to translate the field of the senses. This connection is rooted in the sea, my greatest reference of home. Born and raised by the waters of Ribeira, I learned early on to use the sound of the waves to understand myself—playing with time, the perception of details, and the subtlety of change.
An image is a translation—often limited, but necessarily a relationship. For me, the gaze is a window connecting light and shadow, inside and outside, on a mission that is both profound and ordinary. As a travesti and a baiana, I know that everything is complex, yet inherently simple. Being alive is an urgent joy. That is why I throw my body into the world, aware that people are made to shine and that the here and now is the best place to be.
